Bookbinding Processing

Our possibilities and formats for specific type of binding:

Saddle stitching

Components are inserted to each other and into the cover and stitched with wire staples on the backbone. After the stitching they are cut on three sides.

We use the machines:
Min. format after cutting:                 102 x 152 mm
Max. format after cutting:              305 x 474 mm
Block thickness: :                               up to 7 mm

Perfect binding

The separate components (folded sheets) create the book block. This is in further technology step milled on backbone and after striking of PUR glue it is affixed into soft cover and cut on three sides.

Paperback (thread stitched)

Binding similar to V2, only because of higher mechanical load the individual sheets are stitched with threads and only then the block is glued into cover and is cut on three sides.

We use the machines:
Min. format after cutting:               100 x 125 mm
Max. format after cutting:              292 x 380 mm
Block thickness for V2:               from 3 – 65 mm
Block thickness for V4:               from 3 – 35 mm

Hardback

Hardcover – standard bookbinding, where the individual components (folded sheets) are stitched with thread and so they create the book block. Then the fly-leaf is glued on. The hardcover is made separately, it is coated with laminating paper or buckram. In final production the block with fly-leaf is affixed into hardcover and create the final product (the book).

Min. format:                     100 x 100 mm, with ribbon 100 x 135 mm
Max. format:                    280 x 375 mm, with ribbon 265 x 335 mm
Block thickness:              from 2 – 80 mm, with ribbon up to 60 mm

Flexo binding – the block is made similarly as for hardcover, but it is affixed in soft cardboard cover.

Min. format:                     100 x 135 mm
Max. format:                     250 x 335 mm
